A drag-and-drop job board for field crews
Unscheduled jobs on one side, a column per technician on the other — drag a card to assign and schedule it.
Dispatch, at /crm/dispatch, is a board of Job records: an Unscheduled backlog column plus one column per workspace user acting as a technician. Dragging a job card onto a technician's column assigns it and advances its status; dragging it back to Unscheduled releases it. Jobs are ordinary custom-object records, seeded by applying the Field Service industry pack.
Jobs are custom-object records
The Job object carries the fields a field-service visit needs — because it's a custom object, those fields can be extended or edited like any other object type in the workspace.
- Service type: repair, install, maintenance, inspection, estimate, warranty, emergency
- Status: unscheduled, scheduled, dispatched, in_progress, completed, invoiced, paid, canceled
- Priority: low, normal, high, emergency
- Scheduled start/end, technician, service address, work summary, total
Provisioned by the Field Service pack
Applying the Field Service solution pack (POST /v1/packs/field_service/apply, manager role or above) creates the Job object, a Membership object for recurring service plans, and a "Service pipeline" (new → estimate sent → approved → scheduled → completed → won/lost). Until the pack is applied, the dispatch board shows an empty state with that instruction instead of a job list.
Drag to assign and schedule
Dropping a job on a technician's column sets that technician on the record and, if the job was still unscheduled, flips its status to scheduled. Dropping a job back on Unscheduled clears the technician and reverts status to unscheduled.
At-a-glance job cards
Each card surfaces service type, a color-coded status badge, a priority badge for emergency/high-priority jobs, the service address, the scheduled date, and the job total, so a technician's whole day is scannable without opening a record.
- Assign incoming service requests to the right technician with one drag
- See each technician's full day of scheduled work at a glance
- Track a job from unscheduled through completed, invoiced, and paid
Dispatch — common questions
Applying the Field Service industry pack — it provisions the Job object (plus a Membership object and a Service pipeline) in one call.
Manager role or above.
One column is generated per user in the workspace; a job is placed under the technician named in its "technician" field, or in Unscheduled if that field is empty or unmatched.
Yes — Jobs are stored as custom-object records, so fields can be added, edited, or removed the same way as any other custom object type.
